Sony to Expand DSC Capacity in China in 2H 2006

Japanese Sony has announced plans to invest US$200 million in its Wuxi plant in China, with 50% of the amount intended for expanding DSC (Digital Still Camera) capacity from the current 2.5 million units to five million units in the second half of 2006. Meanwhile, Sony is working to increase the share of DSC components produced locally in China from 72% to 95% by 2008.
